Monte has 13 years of experience working in the public safety sector and is the principal founder of Monumental Access, LLC, which provides various clients with videography, media, and crisis communication solutions.
Professionally, he began working as an emergency medical technician on the ambulance for the St. Louis City Fire Department. In 2009, he served on the Presidential Detail for then-President Barack Obama as the standby medical personnel.
Then he served as a police officer for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for four years, where he served on the riot teams for both the Ferguson and Stockley civil unrest.
To further his experience, he joined the St. Louis County Police Department for five years. He served as a lead instructor for a police officer peer-intervention program called “ABLE”; he helped facilitate classes throughout the entire chain of command. Also, he served as a project manager and implementation specialist for a technology called “Shotspotter” throughout several counties in St. Louis.
Monte received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lindenwood University in St. Louis, MO.
Currently, he serves as a Program Manager II and chief spokesperson for the City of St. Louis Department of Public Safety. He oversees all internal and external communications across nine departments. He advises senior-level executives on best practices for communications strategies.
Fun fact: Monte speaks Spanish and is a scuba diver.
