Resolution In Support of E-Cigarette Directories

WHEREAS, E-cigarette directories provide a valuable resource for law enforcement agencies by identifying businesses and e-cigarette products within the vaping industry and helping to promote transparency and consumer safety; and
WHEREAS, E-cigarette directories serve as an important tool for law enforcement agencies by publishing clear and easily accessible information on whether e-cigarette products comply with federal, state, and local laws, which facilitates the identification of illegal products and activities; and
WHEREAS, E-cigarette directories aid law enforcement efforts by ensuring that businesses adhere to laws and regulations designed to restrict youth access to E-cigarette products, particularly those products that are marketed in a way that they would appeal to minors; and
WHEREAS, E-cigarette directories empower businesses to comply with the law by providing them with up-to-date information on which E-cigarettes products are legally prohibited, which reduces the risk of inadvertently selling non-compliant or youth-targeted E-cigarette products; and
WHEREAS, E-cigarette directories supports business efforts to reduce youth access and usage of E-cigarette products, including those designed to be appealing to children through packaging, flavors, or marketing tactics;
NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors and General Membership of the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers, Inc. (NABLEO) endorses the development and support of E-cigarette directories as a tool for enhancing transparency, regulatory compliance, and consumer protection within the vaping industry;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers, Inc. (NABLEO) recognizes the role E-cigarette directories play in providing law enforcement and businesses with clarity on legal requirements, as well as the E-cigarette directories’ critical contribution to reducing youth access to and usage of illegal E-cigarette products.
